Jeweling, or engine turning, is the process of adding symmetrically sized swirls and patterns to a polished surface. Refracting light like facets on a gemstone, jeweling is uniquely eye catching. This process is not new by any means, but I have made custom fixtures and changed the overlap to give it a different look. I am able to offer you different size jewels and whatever spacing between them you may like. Aside from aesthetics, jeweling allows the part to hold oil and decreases surface friction. My jewels are also deeper than what you will find on many stock pieces and from other shops. I spend several seconds on each "jewel" to ensure uniform depth and that they will last a very long time before fading (if ever). Etching the jewels deep tends to dull the appearance so I end up polishing the jeweled part again after it has been jeweled to give you deep jewels with amazing depth and shine.
These jewels are done by manual machines and I cannot even begin to translate how much time goes into achieving the finishes you see below. Your part needs to be mirror polished or very close so that the jeweling will have the correct look when finished. I will gladly do the mirror polishing for you ( some say I am pretty good at it ) or you can save yourself some money by saving me time and getting the part as close to a mirror as possible. While this option is cheaper in exchange for your time,it places the finished products look in your hands so please do take your time!
